BethAmy Assisted Living Center is owned and operated by Susan Morris, one of three long term care-assisted living centers.  Susan has always been concerned with the healthcare issues that impact the clients she serves and has served on various committees and boards for the North Carolina Association of Long Term Care of which she is currently state secretary.

     Susan has over 30 years experience as a small business owner and has worked with the Legislature on issues that involve all aspects of healthcare, insurance and business. 

     Susan adds, “I have always been proud of my roots in Rowan County.  I was born and raised in East Spencer, lived and worked in Spencer for 25 years and now live in Salisbury.

     Susan graduated from North Rowan High School and Salisbury Beauty School in 1968. She attended Rowan Technical Institute (now Rowan-Cabarrus Community College) and Biscayne Southern College. Executive Director of the Educational Foundation of NCALTCF, she has earned over 15 continuing education credits each year since 1979. She is also a certified Domiciliary Care Administrator Preceptor.  Susan is a certified Reiki Master.  (The Usui System of Natural Healing and that is currently working on qualifying to be licensed as a Certified Natural Health Professional.)

     Susan is extensively involved in her community. Her activities include being a Girl Scout leader and charter member of the North Rowan Boosters Club. She is a member of numerous clubs and organizations including the Town of Spencer Zoning Board of Adjustments, Corbin Hills Women’s Golf Association, Spencer Women’s Club, NC Federation of Women, Pilots International – Salisbury Pilots Club, Carolina Artisans Guild, Central Carolina Bank-Spencer Board of Advisors, Spencer Business Association, and US Chamber of Commerce. Susan is a member of Coburn Methodist Church and serves on the Pastor Parrish and Finance Committees.

     Susan’s three children are Cody Lane Morris, Beth Nance and Amy Dawn Morris. Cody recently celebrated his 19th birthday and is a student at MMI in Phoenix, Arizonza. Beth and her husband, Robert, live in Spencer.  Amy's Wiering-Hoffmans disease took her to be with Our Lord in 1996. Susan is proud grandmother to 5 ½ year old Caroline Elizabeth Nance.
